SOS wins trip to Singapore

We had just arrived at the gym on a regular Thursday afternoon, dreading the burn of the first spinning session I had done in over 3 years.  Feeling pumped though, it had to be done and the first time back is always the worst! Gary’s ready to hit the squash courts, I’m ready to hit the bikes and the phone rings, random UK number comes up…hmmm…better answer it, not likely to be a wrong number. “Hi, this is Yuki from Defected Records! I’ve got some exciting news for you!” Right, now, why would Defected Records be calling me? Screw it, its exciting news. She proceeded to tell me we had won the ZOUK Out competition to Singapore!!!!!! All I could say was “What?” “What?” “Are you serious?” “Erm, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!! I need to call you back”.  Gary still didn’t know what was going on at this point staring at me thinking something mediocre like “we’ve got a new client” had happened! I quickly tell him “We’ve only gone and won the ZOUK Out competition! WAAAAAAAAA!!!” (I don’t think he even knew I had entered…I enter them ALL!) 

The next 15 minutes or so are spent bouncing off the gym walls, squealing and also trying to explain what the hell was going on to our friends Ian and Charlotte! Everyone in total shock. I called back to confirm, “of course we will go” and “yes yes yes book it!” (Many advantages of working from home and not having to rearrange our lives at short notice!) Never have I had so much energy to work out! Had a great spinning sesh, then got straight online to check out all the details about the Zouk Out location (most of which I had no idea) – stunning island off Singapore, 30,000 people, and and and... 

Still in total disbelief. ZOUKOUT music festival in Singapore is the BIGGEST COMPETITION EVER run by Defected Records. This ultimately means that we will be travelling to Singapore and experiencing what has widely been regard as the biggest music festival in ASIA!! 

Later when we got home, I checked my email, not only have we won an all expenses paid trip to Singapore (including connecting flights from Spain to UK first!) hotels, limo transfers, £500 spending money, 2 x iPod 160Gbs (ENGRAVED with Defected logo on the back), 2 VIP tickets to Zouk Out, and 2 x Defected goodie bags! ROCK ON!!!!!!!!! Defected Records had billed it as their biggest competition to date and they weren’t kidding.  It was now time to tell the world, get the new SOS website finished so we can blog our whole journey, and go go go go go get stuff DONE! We spent the next week bragging to all our mates and Facebook peeps that we had won...hahahahaha!
